Climate
Queenstown enjoys all four seasons to the extreme.

Spring (officially 1 Sep – 30 Nov) the weather can be quite fickle with glorious sunshine intermingled with spring showers.  Temperatures range from 8-15 degrees Celsius, however a sunny day out of the wind will find you searching for your sun hat.

Summer time (officially 1 Dec – 28 Feb) temperatures on average are between 20-30 degrees Celsius (high 80-90 degrees Farenheit) and the days are long, with midsummer dawn being as early as 5am and dusk settling around 10pm.

Autumn (officially 1 Mar – 31 May) in the Queenstown area is a blaze of ‘fall’ colours.  While the weather is more settled, temperatures can vary widely between the mid 10’s to the mid 20’s (degrees Celsius).

Winter (officially 1 Jun – 31 Aug) sees Queenstown at its most vibrant, with the close proximity of six international standard snow areas the area is buzzing with skiers and snowboarders.  The temperatures rarely reach more than 7 or 8 degrees Celsius and can fall well below 0 degrees Celsius.
